Bachor Union at a glance
The UP office of Bachor No. 5 was first set up in its own living room at the house of the then Panchayat chief Hebkalal Roy in the largest Bachorgram. This office later came to be known as Bachor. After independence, on 14th August 1947, after the partition of the country, the foundation stone of the UP building was laid at Rajbari in Sahodar village in 1975 and the office activities continued for a long time which was established by the late A. Rahim Saheb, former chairman of Bachore Union Parishad. After that in 2010 former chairman Mr. Alhaj Md. Azizul Islam U. P. Prafulsan Kumar Roy's untiring efforts in 19-10-2010 died. Islam, (3) Md. Abbas Ali, (4) Md. A. Malek Mohadwa donated 50 percent of the land voluntarily / free of cost to the sub-registry in the name of 5th Bachor UP. At present, the UP building was laid by former MP Md. Hafiz Uddin Ahmed on 19-10-2010 at a place called Chopra Battali on the west-south corner of Chowrasatma junction, about 5.5 km north of Ranishankail port, east of Upazila Sadar. Which is currently being used as an office. Although the UP building was located at different places at different times, the name of the union office remained the same at Union Council No. 5, Bachor. 1. Organizational structure |
The head of the organizational structure of the union council is the UP chairman, the chairman is subordinate to the UP secretary, the women in the reserved seats are 3 female members and 9 UP male members and the secretary is subordinate to the village police, each female member has 3 wards and each There is one ward for each male member of UP. |

2. Functions of Union Parishad:

Union Parishad is the focal point of local development at the village level. In accordance with the directives of Articles 9, 11, 59 and 60 of the Constitution of Bangladesh, a voluntary force on behalf of the local government system works to meet the needs of the people and overall development of the Union in order to carry out the functions prescribed by the Union Parishad. And according to section 33, there are 10 compulsory responsibilities of the union: - 1. To maintain law and order and assist the administration in this regard 2. Take action to curb crime, disorder, and smuggling 3. Agriculture, arboriculture, fisheries and animal husbandry, health, cottage industries, irrigation, communication 4. Expansion of family planning activities 5. To develop local resources and ensure their use. Preservation of public property such as road, bridge, culvert, dam, canal, telephone, electricity etc. To review the development activities of other organizations at the union level and to make recommendations in this regard to the Upazila Nirbahi Officer if necessary. . Encourage people to use hygienic toilets. 9. To register birth-death, blind, beggar and destitute. 10. Conduct all types of censuses |
